Situated in the heart of rural Dorset, the Tarrant Valley offers a living experience full of peaceful relaxation, quality food and outdoor indulgence.
The Tarrant Valley is a thriving rural community with enthusiasm for its agricultural roots. The River Tarrant lies just to the east of Blandford Forum, and the eight Tarrant Valley villages all originate from the name of the river. In each village is a church dating as far back as the 11th century. The villages are rich with British heritage; the medieval buildings – in particular, the St. Mary’s church in Tarrant Rushton is one of the most active churches within the community and home to three well-preserved 14th century apertures. The church is also thought to have had a hospital located in the chantry for those in need during the medieval period and you can still see a leper window in the wall.
Just a stone’s throw away is a World War II airfield in Tarrant Rushton set at the top of the valley and is accompanied by spectacular views over Hardy country. Although officially closed in 1980, and the airfield being converted to a farm, some of the old buildings, and the runway still remain for you to see and walk along.
While the villages in the Tarrant Valley have taken on a group persona (rightly so), all eight of the the rural communities are full of exclusive features to check out individually.

Our search algorithm can't find any properties at the moment. That's not to say we don't have any. We're really passionate about property - that's why we wrote a page dedicated to it - and it's possible we have some available properties on our Whisper List.
