DOMVS in the Community
We live and breathe the local area and do everything we can to bring people and businesses closer together.
Our Contributions
At DOMVS, the community is at the heart of our business. We believe that by actively participating in community life, we can make a meaningful impact and build stronger relationships. Discover how DOMVS engages with the community beyond property sales and lettings.
The DOMVS Almanac:
The DOMVS Almanac is a testament to our dedication to supporting local businesses and bringing them together. A valuable resource locally, it facilitates networking, offers exposure, and provides a platform for peer advice.
The Almanac’s quarterly magazine supports over 30 incredible Dorset businesses, including Dorset Tea, The Oyster and Fish House, Jurassic Coast Farm Shop, Purple Office and many more that can be viewed here.
Engaging with Our Community
Our success is deeply intertwined with the well-being of our community. By engaging with local schools, charities, and organisations, we have built a trusted and respected brand. This commitment has led to direct business opportunities and widespread community recognition.
Our sponsorship contributions have spanned various events and causes, enhancing local culture and community spirit, including Purbeck Film Festival, Purbeck Art Weeks, Badbury Rings Point-to-Point, Dorchester Literary Festival, Poundbury Summer Fayre, Kingston Maurward Horse Trials, Smedmore House and Gardens Open Event, and many more.
Charity Contributions
DOMVS is proud to support various charitable causes, focusing our efforts on Weldmar Hospicecare over the past few years. This Dorset-based charity provides exceptional end-of-life care for adults with life-limiting illnesses. Our events throughout the year aim to raise substantial funds for this vital organisation. Additionally, we raised £2,400 for Ukraine via the Disasters Emergency Committee.
Story House: The DOMVS Children's Writing Prize
Story House: The DOMVS Children’s Writing Competition is an annual creative writing competition aimed to inspire creativity, imagination and passion of school children in Dorset.
DOMVS, alongside Lord Julian Fellowes, hold an annual competition, now in its sixth year, for schools all over the county. Those participating are invited to submit a short story, with a prompt given by Academy and Emmy Award winner Lord Fellows. Those shortlisted are invited to attend an awards ceremony, where the winners of each category receive a certificate and prize.
The Story House competition is open to schools across Dorset for pupils aged 5-12 and this year’s competition is now open for entry.
