Famous for water-sports, and with its own designated jet-ski and kite surfing areas, the shallow waters of Weymouth Bay have just been voted as Britain’s Best Beach 2023 by the Sunday Times. Its sandy beach dotted with colourful beach huts and backed by Georgian houses along the extensive promenade is but a short distance from the development. Beyond this, the Dorset coastline recognised for its beauty and heritage, and world-renowned Jurassic Coastline is close to hand. As too is the Victorian Nothe Fort with views of the harbour and Isle of Portland beyond, reached by the Chesil beach causeway. A walk to nearby Radipole Lake, owned by the RSPB, provides excellent opportunities for bird-watching. On a practical note there is a mainline railway station to Bournemouth, Southampton and London/Waterloo.
