The Development

The Farrer Estate, which dates back to 1867, is a beautiful country estate set among 17 acres of private grounds. The mansion house, which sheltered evacuees in the Second World War, was converted into 15 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments in 2020, while the original stable block was also redeveloped into five three- and four-bedroom coachhouses. Retaining many of its characterful features including high ceilings, feature fireplaces and archways, the properties also come with parking and access to the beautifully kept grounds with its formal lawn, ornamental pond, quiet seating areas and alluring walkways.

The Local Area

The Farrer Estate is located in East Stoke, close to the riverside market town of Wareham, with its eclectic mix of shops and restaurants, independent cinema, yacht club and mainline rail links to London Waterloo. Wareham has an independent cinema, and yacht club and there are several very good golf clubs in the surrounding area. There are superb walks and cycle routes close by and of course, the magnificent views afforded to the Jurassic coastline at Lulworth Cove, Studland Beach and the Victorian seaside town of Swanage, are all close to hand.
