‘Story House: The DOMVS Children’s Writing Prize returned for its fourth year with rousing success. The competition was devised to inspire creativity, imagination and passion for the written word and, this year, received entries from talented young writers from Dorchester and surrounding areas.
The stories were judged by Polly Greenway, Director of DOMVS; Lady Emma Fellowes and best-selling novelist, screenwriter, actor and director, Lord Julian Fellowes.
Huge congratulations to all the children who participated. The judges had a hard task choosing between the brilliant stories that were submitted. The awards ceremony was held at Shire Hall Historic Courthouse Museum, Dorchester; a fitting venue for this year’s theme, chosen by Lord Fellowes, of stories based in a museum. The first line of the stories was to read: ‘I cannot remember a time when I was as cold as this.’
