26th May – 10th June 2018
Embracing the area’s rich artistic community, Purbeck Art Weeks Festival (PAW) celebrates both visual and performing arts, and combines open studios with evening events to offer something for everyone. The festival sees visual artists open their studios to the public, and, throughout Purbeck, a wide range of professional workshops are on offer, as well as talks by local experts, and a variety of events by renowned international performers. As a long-standing supporter of Purbeck Art Weeks, DOMVS also provides an exhibition space for artists in our Wareham branch.
Additional elements of the festival include the Purbeck Young Artists Scheme, which nurtures young people’s interests in the arts by supporting artist-led workshops in Purbeck schools. The resulting artwork is shown as part of a collective exhibition in Rollington Barn, Wareham, which showcases the work of over 100 artists, including paintings, jewellery, sculpture, photography, glass, greetings cards and more. Artwork is available to buy, alongside a variety of refreshments and lunches. For more information about the annual festival, visit www.purbeckartweeks.co.uk
